Kaden Berkhahn is a RESESS intern from Milwaukee, Wisconsin spending the summer in Boulder, Colorado. This summer, Kaden is working on a project examining megacrystic zircon from kimberlite pipes.

Kaden Berkhahn is a RESESS intern from Milwaukee, Wisconsin spending the summer in Boulder, Colorado. This summer, Kaden is working on a project examining megacrystic zircon from kimberlite pipes.
Ann Mariya Malayil is a junior at Rutgers University and is a geoscience major, environmental science minor. Ann Mariya is originally from India and is spending her summer at the University of South Carolina conducting geophysics research for EarthScope’s URISE internship program.
Kaetu Wleh is from Boston, Massachusetts and is a senior at Amherst College majoring in geology. This summer, Kaetu’s project focuses on using passive source seismic data from earthquakes to investigate the crust-mantle boundary.
Isabella Metts is originally from Boone, North Carolina and is currently pursuing her master’s degree in geophysics at Michigan Technological University. This summer Isabella has been selected to participate in the Student Career Internship program.
Hassan Saleh is from Los Angeles, California and is graduating next year from UC San Diego with a degree in environmental science. This summer Hassan is working as a RESESS intern collecting tephra data and running an analysis to see how old it is in order to understand which volcano the tephra is from.
Down at the southern end of the East African Rift in Tanzania lies the Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano, exceptional in that it is the only active volcano that erupts carbonatites— igneous rocks composed of >50% carbonate minerals.

This summer, Shradha is working at Georgia Tech University in Atlanta analyzing the changing depths of mid-ocean ridges over time.
Natalea Cohen is a Student Career intern from Nederland, Colorado. This summer she is working as a science communication intern and learning about science writing, website and social media content, graphic design, and interviews.
