EarthScope Data Services will be retiring the FDSN “event” web service as a part of our effort to refine the NSF National Geophysical Facility’s portfolio of data and metadata access capabilities in the cloud.

The NSF National Geophysical Facility’s seismological repository is transitioning into the cloud, and data submitters and consumers should be aware of operational changes.

EarthScope’s fdsnws-dataselect web service, the primary source of miniSEED data from our seismological repository, has moved as part of our cloud transition.

As a reminder to real-time GNSS data users, the legacy real-time streaming service will be retired in less than a month on July 29, 2025. All users must transition to EarthScope’s modernized real-time GNSS data streaming platform before that date.

On June 16, 2025, the EarthScope MUSTANG seismic quality assurance web services were upgraded to serve out metric values from Amazon Web Services (AWS).

We regret to inform you that the irisFetch Matlab-based client is not compatible with recently released Matlab versions 2023a and onward.

Version 1 of the Nominal Response Library (NRL) will be deprecated on May 31, replaced by version 2.
