Lia Lajoie

Engineer II

I am a field engineer with the Network of the Americas, supporting geodetic infrastructure in the Caribbean Basin. My academic background is in geology/geophysics with a specialization in earthquakes and Earth material deformation, but I have lived in Norway, CO, AK, VT, MT, and Greenland working jobs ranging from geohazards to carpentry to glacier monitoring to managing a polar science outpost over winter. My big loves in life are backcountry mountain endeavors (on ski, bike, foot, crampon…), polar latitudes, learning, cooking, leather carving, gardening, hunting, motorcycles, tinkering, and singing songs I make up about my dog to my dog.
