About Marc (he/him)

Marc Garcia is a third-year PhD student in Geology at the University of Texas at El Paso. His research focuses on applying machine learning techniques to better understand seismogenic regions in southern Mexico. Marc’s interest in earthquake science began early in his undergraduate career where he merged his passions for computer science and earth science. As a Cloud On-RAMP Career Intern, he is excited to be at the forefront of the new wave of science in the cloud. By enhancing earthquake monitoring tools with a user-friendly cloud environment, Marc is eager to make a significant impact and advance his career in earthquake science.
