About Hayley (they/them)

Hayley Bricker is a rising 5th year PhD student studying paleoclimate in the Department of Earth, Planetary and Space Sciences at UCLA. Their particular interest in geoscience started when they took a General Education course on earthquakes during their freshman year of university, and soon focused on environmental studies after finding a mentor & research opportunities in the Climate & Biogeochemistry Lab at UCLA. As a Career intern, Hayley will work with Scott Johnson and Emily Zawacki to craft news & features stories and multimedia content about the diverse science EarthScope supports. They are looking forward to gaining more experience in science communication and storytelling. In their free time, Hayley enjoys trail running, hiking, cycling, and pretty much any outdoor activity.
