Bob served as the Chief Operating Officer for EarthScope, with a special focus on the Instrumentation operations of EarthScope. Prior to that Bob served in various roles in the IRIS Consortium for 15 years, including serving as President of IRIS in the three years prior to the merger that formed EarthScope. Earlier in his career Bob’s research focused on large-scale Earth structure using long-period seismic data. This research motivated a lifelong interest in seismic instrument performance, calibration, and quality. Nowadays Bob can frequently be found on a bicycle, touring rail trails and gravel roads.
