Both irisws-resp and irisws-sacpz are important response-metadata web services provided by EarthScope Data Services that offer alternative formats for station response to the standard StationXML. These services are now integrated into the new FDSN station service as ‘format’ options when you request response-level output. As a result, we are retiring these features as independent services.

What:  Retirement of the following services:
            • irisws-resp: http://service.iris.edu/irisws/resp/1/
            • irisws-sacpz: http://service.iris.edu/irisws/sacpz/1/

When: On August 31, 2026

Users should transition their clients and scripts to use the station service for their response metadata needs.

As a part of decommissioning these services, we will also remove documented references to them or mark them as defunct.
