M 7.1 Southern Tibetan Plateau
A magnitude 7.1 earthquake occurred near Xizang, China.
M 7.3 Vanuatu
A major earthquake struck in the southwest Pacific Ocean at a depth of 57.1 km (35.5 miles) about 30 km (18 miles) west of Port Vila, the largest city in Vanuatu.
M 7.0 California
A magnitude 7.0 earthquake occurred offshore of Cape Mendocino, California at a depth of 10 km.
M 7.0 Russia
A magnitude 7.0 earthquake occurred at a depth of 29 km (18 miles) near the intersection of the Aleutian and Kuril-Kamchatka trenches.
M 7.4 Chile
A magnitude 7.4 earthquake occurred near Atacama, Chile on Thursday evening local time at a depth of 117 kilometers (72 miles).
M 7.2 Peru
A magnitude 7.2 earthquake has occurred in Peru. Eight people have been reported injured in the earthquake and landslides have been reported on local roads.
M 4.8 New Jersey
At approximately 10:23 eastern and local time, a magnitude 4.8 earthquake occurred in
New Jersey near the town of Clinton and 45 miles west of New York City.
M 7.4 Taiwan
A 7.4-magnitude earthquake, followed by several strong aftershocks, struck off the east coast of Taiwan on Wednesday morning 18km (11.2 miles) SSW of Haulien City, Taiwan at a depth of 34.8 km (21.6 miles).
