About Kaissa (she/they)
Kaissa is an enthusiastic student joining us from Central New Mexico Community College in the last term of her associate degree. She plans to transfer to the University of New Mexico and continue majoring in Environmental Planning and Design. Their interests include environmental justice, environmental science, and communications. From a young age, Kaissa has been very passionate about environmental stewardship. She enjoys deep conversations about politics, hiking with her dog, watching documentaries, hula hooping, painting, and tending to her plants. An intern working with hydrologists, she is helping digitize aquifer data that will aid in mapping, modeling, and help with adherence to comply with a new water data accessibility policy.
