EarthScope is funded by the National Science Foundation and conducted in partnership with the US Geological Survey and NASA. The Publications area provides access to the EarthScope quarterly newsletter (onSite) and to previous EarthScope proposals, reports and other planning documents. Additionally, references to research publications based on EarthScope data, as well as reports from EarthScope-supported workshops are provided.

Welcome to the first issue of the inSights newsletter. The featured science article showcases recent discoveries about fault zone processes at the San Andreas Fault critically aided by the EarthScope facilities. Ongoing developments about the ARRA-funded MARGINS/EarthScope Cascadia initiative, an amphibious array, are presented. The Active Earth Display and its new modules are highlighted on the back.

USArray contributions to Deep Earth studies are highlighted in the first featured science article. The other article provides insight into complex tectonic block motions in Southeast Alaska. Education and Outreach is an important part of the EarthScope program. Jim Davis, chair of the E&O Subcommittee, introduces key E&O activities.
