EarthScope is a multi-year program that will measure how North America changes through time. Funded by the National Science Foundation, EarthScope is installing more than 200 permanent seismomenters, 150 borehole strainmeters, 400 temporary seismometers, 875 GPS stations, and a host of other scientific instruments in every state except Hawaii. EarthScope provides a unique opportunity for integrating scientific research and education by engaging students, teachers, and the public in a national experiment that is going on in their own backyard.
